Description

A viral 30-minute steak dinner featuring juicy garlic butter steak bites paired with a rich, creamy side for a quick yet indulgent meal.

Ingredients

  • 500g steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary
  • 500g potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for potatoes)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water for 12–15 minutes until tender, then drain.
  2. Mash potatoes with butter, cream, milk, and parmesan until smooth. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
  3. Pat steak dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat.
  5. Sear steak bites in a single layer for 2–3 minutes without stirring.
  6. Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes until browned.
  7. Reduce heat to medium, add butter, garlic, and herbs, and toss to coat for 1–2 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with parsley.
  9. Serve steak bites hot with creamy mashed potatoes.

Notes

  • Use high heat for a perfect sear and caramelization.
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
  • Ribeye gives the juiciest results due to higher fat content.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice to brighten the flavors.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
