A viral 30-minute steak dinner featuring juicy garlic butter steak bites paired with a rich, creamy side for a quick yet indulgent meal.
Ingredients
- 500g steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary
- 500g potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter (for potatoes)
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil potatoes in salted water for 12–15 minutes until tender, then drain.
- Mash potatoes with butter, cream, milk, and parmesan until smooth. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
- Pat steak dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat.
- Sear steak bites in a single layer for 2–3 minutes without stirring.
- Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes until browned.
- Reduce heat to medium, add butter, garlic, and herbs, and toss to coat for 1–2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with parsley.
- Serve steak bites hot with creamy mashed potatoes.
Notes
- Use high heat for a perfect sear and caramelization.
- Avoid overcrowding the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
- Ribeye gives the juiciest results due to higher fat content.
- Add a squeeze of lemon juice to brighten the flavors.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
