Meet the Cook Behind the Blog
Hi! I’m Diva Taylor, the cook, recipe developer, and storyteller behind Recipe by Diva.
I’m a self-taught home cook based in the UK, and I spend most of my days testing recipes, experimenting with flavors, photographing dishes, and sharing everything I learn with you.
For me, cooking has never been about perfection. It’s about comfort, creativity, and those little moments when a simple meal turns into something special.
I believe anyone can cook delicious food with the right guidance and a little confidence. That belief is what inspired me to start this blog.
How It All Started
Recipe by Diva didn’t begin as a business. It began as a small passion project.
Back in 2017, I found myself constantly scribbling recipes onto scraps of paper — quick dinners that worked on busy nights, family favorites that everyone requested again and again, and the occasional “happy accident” that turned into a surprisingly great meal.
Friends and family would often ask for those recipes, and eventually someone said something that stuck with me:
“You should put these online so everyone can try them.”
At first, the idea felt intimidating. I wasn’t a professional chef. I didn’t have formal culinary training. But what I did have was a genuine love for food and a desire to share it.
So I decided to start small.
I launched the blog with a handful of recipes and no big expectations — just a hope that maybe a few people out there might find them helpful.
The Journey of Learning and Growing
Like many creative journeys, the early days were full of learning.
I had to figure out everything from recipe writing and food photography to blogging and website design. There were many late nights testing dishes, adjusting ingredients, and learning how to explain cooking steps clearly so anyone could follow along.
But the most rewarding part was seeing people actually make the recipes.
Messages started coming in from readers saying things like:
- “This was the first meal I ever cooked from scratch.”
- “My family loved this recipe!”
- “I finally feel confident cooking dinner.”
Those moments reminded me why I started.
Over time, what began as a small hobby slowly grew into a thriving community of home cooks from all around the world. And today, Recipe by Diva has become my full-time passion.
